Mount Olympus - "Botanical Paradise"

Olympus is a World Biosphere Reserve. Every year, thousands of visitors admire its fauna and flora, tour its slopes, and climb its peaks. Due to its marvellous morphology it offers an astonishing and rare range of herbs/ medicinal herbs that are magnificently unique in the world, at least in the composition of the substances and in the peculiarities of the characteristics that the soil imparts to them.
According to experts, the vegetation of Olympus exceptional due to its geographical position, the short distance from the sea and the creation of many micro-environments is characterized, in particular, by the eastern side as being highly anarchic, in terms of succession. There are generally 4 vegetation zones in Olympus, but with many species interconnected with this dominant and highly significant second zone from 600 to 1400 meters. The nutrient-rich land also is situated at an exceptional point geographically of that of a melting pot of North African, Middle-Eastern and South-European climate.
Mt. Olympus coexists with the sea shore, mountain coniferous forests, small groups and sharps (Facus moesiaca), elm (Ulmus glabra), taxa (Taxus baccata), thistle (Coryllus avellana), and scallops (Cornus mas). Hundreds of growers have started cultivating varieties of aromatic, medicinal herbs (oregano, tea, rosemary, sage, thyme, lavender) in this B zone over the last ten years that stand out from all the others for the unique Olympus Aroma.
