The story of Olympus
Olympus, “the Mountain of the Gods”, is the highest mountain in Greece. Ascending to the “bright skies” is where the name derives from in Greek. Its rich folklore and history thrives in the verdant fields, high peaks and neighbouring shores of the Greek sea.
The geological formation of Olympus is derived from sedimentary rock spanning to 200 million years. Its complex morphology hosts flora comprised of a total of 1700 species, with many endemic plants representing 25% of Greek flora.
